Review

I have to admit, there was some trepidation before watching this because the original Border remains one of my favourites. Definitely a little anxious with the way they would approach this film. Most of those fears were alleviated after the watch, very happy about that. The war set pieces, the action sequences, infantry, has been done excellently. The dialogues are powerful and strong, without being over the top (most of the times). Sunny Deol looks well even at this age, Diljit’s performance isn’t nuanced and comes off as trying too hard, Varun gives a very decent showing surprisingly. Few little flaws are present in the narrative screenplay (a little uneven storytelling), and definitely, the editing (we could have a much crisper film with the “meh” parts removed). Having a runtime of 2 hours 30 mins would serve this film quite well than a 3 hour+ behemoth. Still, a worthy watch overall..
